Mary is inspired by the landscape and coastline especially that of Wales. She explores different ways of using various media, mainly acrylic, collage and pen work. As a result this can often lead towards abstraction yet still retain a degree of realism. Penmon lighthouse in Anglesey is a favourite spot of Mary’s with Puffin island in close proximity. The ever changing weather and tide provided the rich textures, patterns and colours for Mary to respond to in this painting.
