I got these bees and honeycomb from a bee keeper in Chorlton, Manchester. I spent 20 years living in Manchester raising my family and my kids are all very proud Mancunians. The bee has been a symbol of Manchester and the industrious nature for many years. Like a colony of bees the city sees itself working better if everyone works together just like these little worker bees. Bees have a short lifecycle and so the specimens I have were all found dead around the hive. Not the easiest of things to print but worth the effort once I got the hang of it! I've printed these bees with a section of their honeycomb on Thai Mulberry paper measuring around 20x20cm. Once the print is dry, it's wet mounted using the traditional Japanese method of a flour paste. The print is then left for around 24 hours to dry out. When it is flattened, I sign the print and stamp it with my Hanko. The print is unique no two prints are ever the same. It will be sent unmounted and unframed. It will be rolled in a poster tube and protected with acid free tissue paper.
